My in laws neighbour asked me to make a birth tile (I think it’s a very Dutch thing) for the birth of her first grandchild.
I was very happy to do so and we duscussed a design matching the newborn’s curtains. Cutting the glass pieces to make the shape of the fox was quite a challenge, but I was pleased with the result. I used some transparent colours of glass in the background to make a nice see through effect. I fused a heat resistent fusing hook between the two layers of glass to hang the tile. The tile was ready far before her grand daughter was born. On the 1st of July I got the text with the happy news and I just had to write name and date of birth on the tile with a glassline pen and fire the tile for a last time.
Hope Fenna will enjoy her tile the rest of her long, happy life which starts off with a lot of zzzzzzz for now. Made with love!
